AI agents for healthcare systems: announcing the Parloa X Epic integration

Today, Parloa announced its successful integration with Epic, the global electronic healthcare record (EHR) provider, empowering enterprise health systems with technology that provides patients with more consistent, personalized support across common service interactions.
Despite recent efforts by many healthcare systems to improve service responsiveness, expand service capacity, and streamline patient access operations, many of the highest-volume support interactions still rely on manual effort and fragmented workflows. Parloa’s AI Agent Management Platform (AMP) is designed to help organizations reliably automate these common operations, such as scheduling a visit, changing an appointment, confirming details, understanding a bill, resetting portal access, and reaching the right team, so patients get their answers faster and staff can focus on larger business initiatives.
As a member of Epic’s Vendor Services program, Parloa leverages Epic’s native interoperability standards and APIs, including FHIR, SMART on FHIR, and related interfaces, to allow Parloa’s AI agents to securely interface with Epic during patient conversations. By retrieving relevant context, agents can execute defined actions and automate patient access and service workflows.

With Parloa AMP, healthcare systems have a governed environment to design, test, deploy, and manage AI agents with strict guardrails and centralized oversight, always with the option for human handoff in production deployments. Healthcare systems can embed Parloa’s voice agents in their contact centers and its chat agents across digital and messaging surfaces to be available in whichever communication channel the patient prefers. The agents are able to speak over 130 languages, including regional dialects, enabling organizations to scale service across diverse patient populations.
“Parloa’s integration with Epic brings AI directly into the systems many healthcare providers already depend on every day," said Louis Scott de Martinville, SVP, Global Channels and Alliances of Parloa. “By providing a seamless transition to AI-native patient support, patients get answers faster and staff refocus on higher-value work, all without overhauling existing workflows and with outcomes healthcare organizations can measure precisely.”
By bringing agentic AI to Epic customers, Parloa empowers healthcare systems to transform how they engage with patients, creating new pathways to care and support that provide both patients and providers with better healthcare experiences.
